Giles Clarke, the chairman of the ECB, has branded the end of the Investec Ashes series at The Oval “totally unsatisfactory” and called upon the ICC chief executive, David Richardson, to change the regulations regarding bad light at the earliest opportunity.A full house crowd booed the umpires after they led the players from the pitch with England requiring 21 more runs from the final four overs of the match.It was a disappointing end to a dramatic final day that had seen 447 runs scored, 17 wickets taken and Kevin Pietersen score the fastest half-century by an England player in Ashes history after a bold declaration from Australia and a sustained run-chase from England.Set 227 to win in 44 overs, England appeared to be on the brink of the win that would have secured a record-breaking 4-0 victory – a score line they have never achieved in an Ashes series in England – before the umpires intervened.It left Clarke fuming. At the time they took a reading on their light meters which, in accordance with ICC regulations, set a precedent for the rest of the game. Whether the light on either day could be considered to have suggested an “obvious and foreseeable risk to the safety of any player or umpire, so that it would be unreasonable or dangerous for play to take place”, as the regulations currently state, is debatable.Michael Clarke, at least, felt the light was considerably worse by the end of day five than it had been at the end of day two. He also felt it was worse than when the umpires had led the players from the pitch in Manchester when Australia were in the dominant position.”There was no comparison,” Clarke said. “I don’t think I’m going to get into the numbers but I remember seeing the reading when I got told we had to go off in Manchester and I stood in the middle of the wicket today and there was a big difference. But for us, we just have to go on the umpire’s call. If they think it’s safe to keep playing then we keep playing.”I just asked the question: why we haven’t got the meter out here? It took a few overs to get it out. Just going on what’s happened in the past through this Test series, you know around that time is generally when it’s getting close to when the umpires have consistently taken us off the field.”Alastair Cook, the England captain, also expressed his empathy with the umpires. While he was naturally disappointed to be denied a memorable win, he admitted it has become “pretty dark”. He also credited Australia for an enterprising declaration that had set-up a highly entertaining final day of the series.”It would have been nice to finish the game off,” Cook said. “But rules are there for a reason. It was pretty dark and the umpires have strict guidelines. If the boot had been on the other foot, we would have asked the same questions as the Australians.”Of course we understand the frustration. It’s a shame for an amazing crowd. But you can also see the other side of it. We understand the rules and regulations. The umpires have to take emotion out of the game and do their job. They have to be consistently fair to both sides.”It is disappointing to be sitting here when we felt we could have scored those runs in the final four overs, but I understand the umpires’ decision.”

أثار كيليان مبابي، نجم فريق باريس سان جيرمان، غضب إدارة النادي الفرنسي بعد القرار الذي كشف عنه اليوم للمسؤولين، في خطاب رسمي أرسله ظهر اليوم الإثنين.

ووفقًا لصحيفة “ليكيب” الفرنسية، فإن كيليان مبابي أبلغ مسؤولي باريس سان جيرمان أنه لا ينوي تفعيل بند التمديد في عقده الحالي.

كان مبابي قد وقع عقدًا جديدًا مع باريس سان جيرمان حتى عام 2024، مع خيار التمديد لعام آخر، أي حتى عام 2025.

وأكدت الصحيفة أن مبابي لا ينوي البقاء مع باريس سان جيرمان لما بعد الموسم المقبل، 2023/24، حيث يسعى إلى الرحيل وعدم تفعيل بند التمديد.

وأشارت إلى أن قرار مبابي أثار غضب مسؤولي باريس سان جيرمان، الذين لا يرغبون في رحيله مجانًا العام المقبل.

وتعجب مسؤولو باريس سان جيرمان من قرار مبابي، حيث شعروا بأن المحادثات الخاصة بتمديد عقده (صفقة جديدة طويلة الأمد) كانت إيجابية في الأسابيع الأخيرة، ولذلك لم يفكر النادي على الإطلاق من قبل في بيعه هذا الصيف.

ولكن الآن سئم باريس سان جيرمان الوضع ومستعد لاتخاذ موقف متشدد تجاه مبابي.

وأفادت بأن قرار مبابي قد يعني لجوء باريس سان جيرمان إلى طرحه للبيع في الميركاتو الصيفي الحالي، لتحقيق استفادة ماليًا.

وأكدت الصحيفة أن باريس سان جيرمان أمامه خيارين فقط، إما أن يوافق مبابي على تمديد عقده ومن ثم بقائه حتى 2025، أو بيعه في الأيام المقبلة.

ويتطلع ريال مدريد بقوة إلى ضم مبابي، خاصة بعد رحيل النجم الفرنسي كريم بنزيما قبل أيام إلى اتحاد جدة السعودي.

من جانبها، ذكرت صحيفة “نيويورك تايمز” الأمريكية أن مسؤولي باريس سان جيرمان تفاجئوا بقرار مبابي.

وذكرت أن أولئك المسؤولين علموا بقرار مبابي بعدما تواصلت معهم وسيلة إعلامية فرنسية (ليكيب)، مدعية بأنها تلقى نسخة من خطاب مبابي قبل إرساله إلى إدارة النادي.

ولم ترد محدثة مبابي على تلك التقارير، كما رفض ممثلو باريس سان جيرمان التعقيب.

O início de ano do Corinthians está longe de ser o dos sonhos do torcedor, mas um fator em específico tem tirado mais o sono do técnico Fábio Carille, mais do que os resultados ainda inconsistentes. Na segunda passagem do comandante pelo clube, o fantasma da bola aérea voltou a assombrar e marca uma espécie de “Calcanhar de Carille” na retomada do Timão com o treinador.

Neste início de temporada, dos nove gols sofridos em oito jogos, sete foram originados após cruzamentos na área. Situação que preocupa ainda mais porque também foi recorrente nos outros anos em que Carille esteve no comando.

No ano passado, o treinador dirigiu o time apenas no primeiro semestre e também lidou com dificuldade neste tipo de jogada. Dos 27 gols sofridos pelo time, 17 foram após cruzamentos. O número corresponde a 62.9% dos gols sofridos pelo time. Apesar disso, Carille conduziu o time ao bicampeonato paulista, além de se classificar para o mata-mata da Libertadores.

Denly was quickly back out in the middle, as Jimmy Adams departed for 4, but a 156-run partnership for the second wicket with Northeast helped ease MCC away from total embarrassment.”It’s been a good day,” Denly said. “I was disappointed to get out in the first innings the way I did, but I was very happy to spend some time out there second time around and get some runs. I didn’t really notice any change in the conditions during the day. Under the lights it skidded on a bit quicker, but this actually helped it to come on the bat quite nicely. ويختتم المنتخب استعداده اليوم  للقاء غانا وديًا بعدها يمنح الجهاز الفني بقيادة ميكالي اللاعبين راحة قبل السفر مساء الجمعة إلى الرباط لإجراء معسكر أخير بها يتخلله لقاء ودى مع الكونغو ثم يسافر المنتخب إلى مدينة طنجة التى تستضيف مباريات مجموعته.

Dodô disputou a temporada 2018 com a camisa do Santos emprestado pela Sampdoria (ITA) e se firmou como titular absoluto durante todo ano. Com o fim do empréstimo, o Peixe precisava exercer a prioridade de compra, mas não chegou ao acordo com o jogador por divergências na pedida salarial.

Com o impasse, Dodô entrou na mira do Cruzeiro e acabou sendo contratado pelo clube mineiro, que vai disputar a Libertadores em 2019.

USACA chief executive Darren Beazley had been pushing for changes to take place by the end of 2013, but a USACA press release stated that it might take till the summer of 2014 for any of the recommendations to be approved by the board and its members.Beazley had spent much of the summer championing a number of recommendations from the governance review done by TSE Consulting, which was funded by a grant from the ICC. He visited administrative leaders around the country from the eight regions of the USACA in October and was joined for part of his tour by ICC global development manager Tim Anderson on a mission to convince stakeholders to support and approve the measures.A key recommendation from the TSE report included changing the power structure of the USACA to reduce the size of the current USACA board, cut their power in half and give 50% of it to independent directors. Among the other recommendations were to establish term limits for board members, redefine membership categories and introduce athlete representation into the board.However, rather than moving to take a vote to approve the measures at the USACA AGM on November 16 in Florida, the USACA press release issued late on November 22 said that a governance implementation committee will be formed to attempt to install the measures following up from the governance review committee which dealt with the TSE report prior to the AGM.”The USACA governance review committee has worked hard over the past year,” USACA president Gladstone Dainty said in the release. “We now have several recommendations and themes that will be invaluable in charting a new direction for cricket in this country which is a tremendous positive for the sport. The board of USACA is committed to evolve. We understand that in order for cricket to achieve its ambitious goals outlined in the USACA Strategic Plan 2014-16, the manner in which the game is administered must build on the strong foundation we have and step forward.”Further, now is the time to form a governance implementation committee to take good governance practices and implement them at USACA. Some of the changes can be implemented by the board and others will require constitutional changes.”The dates for next year’s USACA national championship were also finalised for August 21-24 at a new multi-million dollar turf-wicket facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. It will be the first USACA national tournament held since 2011.
