Virender Sehwag, who missed the first two Tests of the England tour, has landed in England and is en route to join the Indian team later on Wednesday. Sehwag, who was ruled out for the first fortnight of the England series when the Indian selectors announced the Test squad on July 2, is expected to be available for the last two Tests. The Indians play a two-day tour match against Northants starting this Friday ahead of the third Test which starts in Birmingham next week.India would be optimistic about opening with their regular pair of Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir in Northampton and then in the third Test at Edgbaston. Gambhir has recovered from the left-shoulder injury he picked while fielding in England’s second innings at Lord’s. “He is sure for the next Test,” MS Dhoni said.Sehwag’s return would definitely be a shot in the arm for India, who have been completely outplayed in the series so far and are 2-0 down. The Tamil Nadu pair of M Vijay and Abhinav Mukund opened in the three-Test series in the Caribbean that India won 1-0. Gambhir had suffered a shoulder injury during the final round of the IPL, exacerbating an existing injury he claimed he originally picked during the World Cup final in April. Vijay, who was the third-choice opener in the past, struggled and got a tally of 72 runs in the three Tests against West Indies, a series where Abhinav made his debut and impressed scoring 147 runs.At Lord’s, Abhinav joined Gambhir, who was hit on the elbow while fielding in the second innings and batted down the order. Gambhir was then declared unfit to play in the second Test forcing Rahul Dravid to face the new ball in Abhinav’s company.

وتابع: “أسامة نبيه اتصل بي وأبلغني بأنه لديه عرض من نادي أخر”.

واستكمل: “عقب مباراة الداخلية سأجتمع مع فيريرا لاختيار بديل أسامة نبيه، وإذا لم يريد مساعد له فلا أزمة”.

وأكد : “أسامة نبيه أدى مرحلة ويجب أن نشكره، يكفي أنه قدم لنا نجله يوسف”.

وأوضح: “اجتمعت مع اللاعبين بسبب الحجز على الأرصدة، كان لهم جزء من المستحقات وعلى يوم الأربعاء المقبل لا يوجد لاعب سيكون له مليم في الزمالك، لاعبو الزمالك رجال ولم يطلبوا مستحقاتهم واخذوا قرار بعدم الحديث عن أي مليم إلا بعد رفع الحجز عن أرصدة النادي”.

وشارك أحمد مرتضى منصور عضو مجلس الإدارة في توقيع العقود مع محمد طاهر رئيس شركة النيل للتطوير العقاري، في حضور مسؤولي الشركة المتحدة للخدمات الرياضية وشركة بريزنتيشن.

وجاء ذلك بجانب تواجد أمير مرتضى منصور المشرف العام على الكرة ومحمود عبدالرازق شيكابالا قائد الفريق الأول لكرة القدم.

تحدث أوناي إيمري، مدرب فريق أستون فيلا، عن فوزهم الهام على توتنهام في مباراتهما اليوم ببطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

وقال إيمري في تصريحات بعد المباراة: “قضينا أمس هنا في لندن في الفندق وأردنا أن نظهر بعد ظهر اليوم أن المباراة كانت من أولوياتنا وقد أظهر اللاعبون ذلك بأدائهم، ركضوا وقاتلوا وكانوا واثقين جدًا في اللحظة الدفاعية”.

وأضاف: “اليوم أظهرنا مستوانا في المباراة، كنا نلعب ضد توتنهام، أحد الفرق الست الأوائل، أظهرنا كيف يمكن أن نتنافس ونحاول أن نكون متنافسين على مستوى عالِ واستحقينا الفوز”.

وأردف: “أعتقد أننا لعبنا بشكل جيد للغاية في الدفاع اليوم وكانت لدينا فرص للتسجيل وكنا نمارس أداءً ممتازًا”.

واستكمل: “عادة ما يسجلون (توتنهام) الأهداف، هم فريق جيد هجوميًا، في ملعبهم يشعرون بأنهم أقوياء، وفي بعض الأحيان يقومون بمباريات أكثر انفتاحًا من المعتاد، وبعد تحليلها علمنا أنه يتعين علينا اللعب بقوة دفاعية وعدم التنازل عن العديد من الفرص وقد فعلنا ذلك”.

واستمر: “لديهم لاعبون جيدون للغاية في الهجوم مع هاري كين وسون، وكنا نعلم أنه إذا أردنا الفوز، يجب أن نكون أقوياء دفاعينًا وندافع بشكل أعمق مما أرغب في المعتاد”.

West Indies coach Ottis Gibson has praised the composure shown by legspinner Devendra Bishoo, who picked up four wickets on Test debut, as Pakistan were bowled out for 160 in their first innings in Guyana.”Judging from his debut in World Cup a few months back he has showed signs of being a very intelligent bowler,” Ottis said. “He showed he has the ability to handle himself when he’s put under pressure and that’s a very good sign.”He only had 226 to bowl at but he didn’t show any nerves. He has been very adaptable and handled the situation very well. Today, Umar Akmal came at him quite hard and he responded very well. He varied his pace and demonstrated he knows exactly what he’s doing.”Bishoo, who was the highest wicket-taker for his side with figures of 4 for 60, said his focus had been on getting the ball “in the right areas”. “I tried to stick to what I normally do,” Bishoo said. “I came here today and I knew once I got the ball in the right areas I would get some wickets.”When I came on to bowl I didn’t look too far ahead. I concentrated on what I wanted to do with each ball and how I would attack each batsman. I got a lot of support from the guys on the field and everyone in the dressing room. It was also good the crowd was behind me.”Bishoo, who was the highest wicket-taker for West Indies in the ODI series, said the wicket of opposition captain Misban-ul-Haq, who became his first Test victim, lbw for 2, set the tone for him for the rest of the innings.”My first wicket was a relief,” Bishoo said. “I knew I got him ‘dead’ in front. Com histórias centenárias, Racing e Vasco se enfrentam na noite desta quinta-feira, na Argentina, pela Conmebol Libertadores. Em campo será mostrada a rivalidade entre as equipes na busca da vitória para a sequência da caminhada na competição internacional, mas fora das quatro linhas as semelhanças entre os times de Avellaneda e do Rio de Janeiro traduzem conquistas históricas que brindam os torcedores apaixonados.

As conquistas começam no ineditismo consagrado no século passado. O Vasco, fundado em 21 de agosto de 1898, hoje com 119 anos, é marcado por ser um clube que desde o seu início prega, por exemplo, a democracia e a inclusão. Em 1948, com o “Expresso da Vitória”, o Cruz-Maltino conquistou o Campeonato Sul-Americano de Clubes. Realizada no Chile, a competição foi a primeira de magnitude promovida no continente.

Esta competição, inclusive, vale lembrar, serviu de parâmetro para a criação da UEFA Champions League e, depois, da própria Conmebol Libertadores, vencida pelo Vasco em 1998 e que vai a campo nesta quinta-feira contra o Racing por este mesmo torneio. O título vascaíno de 1998 é considerado precursor, já que foi o primeiro conquistado pelo futebol brasileiro no exterior. Já o Racing faturou como o primeiro na Argentina o principal torneio do futebol mundial.

Esta história do Racing aconteceu no ano de 1957. Na mesma oportunidade que chegou ao topo sul-americano, o time de Avellaneda bateu o Celtic, da Escócia, e faturou a Copa Intercontinental. Até então, ninguém mais na Argentina tinha conquistado uma competição deste porte. Foi isto que motivou, inclusive, a alcunha “O Primeiro Grande” carregada pelos torcedores do Racing. O Vasco, com a alcunha “Gigante da Colina”, também se assemelha neste sentido.

Isto rendeu até uma brincadeira entre as redes sociais de Racing e Vasco ao longo da última terça-feira. Foi adotada a hashtag #GigantesDaAmérica. A interação ganhou os torcedores dos times (confira abaixo a sequência de postagens).

Estas semelhanças de conquistas se estendem para as arquibancadas. Os torcedores de Vasco e Racing possuem profunda importância nas histórias de conquistas de seus respectivos clubes. No Vasco, em 1927, os cruz-maltinos se mobilizaram e construíram São Januário, que completou 90 anos de existência em 2017. As três principais ações para angariar verbas foram atrair novos sócios, conhecida como “Campanha dos 10 mil”, contribuições individuais e o lançamento de debêntures no mercado (títulos de créditos ao portador).

De certa forma, esta ajuda da torcida também influenciou na história do Racing. Os alvicelestes conseguiram evitar a falência do clube em 1999. As dívidas chegaram a US$ 30 milhões (R$ 102,1 milhões). Na época, a Justiça da Argentina decretou a falência da instituição. Três dias depois da falência decretada, o Racing receberia o Talleres em sua casa, e mesmo sabendo que não teria jogo, os torcedores ignoraram a decisão judicial e lotaram o estádio – mais de 30 mil pessoas compareceram. Este fato motivou o recuo da Justiça, que daria nova chance para o Racing se reerguer.

Estes são exemplos das semelhanças entre os clubes em uma história repleta de conquistas. Mas as semelhanças não param por aí: tanto o Racing quanto o Vasco querem o título da atual edição da Conmebol Libertadores. Para isso, terão que um atrapalhar a história do outro na caminhada deste ano.
