The all-rounder took 4 for 0 in 27 balls to spark a collapse that sawthe home side crash from 45 for 1 to 154 all out. Rogers, who left Derbyshire at the end of last season, then made an unbeaten 66 to carry Middlesex to 115 for 1 at stumps, 39 behind.Berg would have celebrated his first five-wicket haul but Corey Collymore spilled a simple catch at mid-off on a day when little went right for Derbyshire, who lost skipper Luke Sutton after tea when he injured a hand keeping wicket to Tony Palladino.Derbyshire’s decision to bat first on a warm, sunny morning looked a good one after they lost only Wayne Madsen in the first 15 overs. The South African drove Tim Murtagh to point in the third over but Wes Durston and Australian Test batsman Usman Khawaja were starting to build a partnership when Berg struck.Durston fenced at one he could have left to be caught at second slip and in the same over, Chesney Hughes also edged into the hands of Ollie Rayner. Berg was finding some swing to trouble the batsman and he tempted Khawaja into a loose drive that ended in the hands of third slip Neil Dexter after the 24-year-old had scored 16 from 55 balls in his debut innings.Greg Smith went before lunch when he edged a defensive push at Berg and the slide continued after the interval when Collymore had Dan Redfern taken at first slip by Dawid Malan. Sutton was bowled playing back to Murtagh and when Jon Clare drove loosely to point, Derbyshire were in deep trouble at 106 for 8.But Collymore’s drop and some firm drives from Ross Whiteley, including a six off Rayner, at least earned the home side a measure of respectability before he drove a return catch back to the offspinner. Scott Newman went cheaply for Middlesex when he got a leading edge to mid-offagainst Tim Groenewald but Derbyshire’s bowlers could not dislodge Rogers, whorode his luck on the way to a 78-ball fifty.By then, Derbyshire’s third wicketkeeper was in action after Tom Poynton was called up from a second XI game at nearby Belper to take over from Madsen, who had replaced Sutton. It was a frustrating last session for the home side who saw a number of false strokes from Rogers and Dan Housego fly just out of reach as the pair added 85 in 25 overs.

West Indies coach Ottis Gibson has praised the composure shown by legspinner Devendra Bishoo, who picked up four wickets on Test debut, as Pakistan were bowled out for 160 in their first innings in Guyana.”Judging from his debut in World Cup a few months back he has showed signs of being a very intelligent bowler,” Ottis said. “He showed he has the ability to handle himself when he’s put under pressure and that’s a very good sign.”He only had 226 to bowl at but he didn’t show any nerves. He has been very adaptable and handled the situation very well. Today, Umar Akmal came at him quite hard and he responded very well. He varied his pace and demonstrated he knows exactly what he’s doing.”Bishoo, who was the highest wicket-taker for his side with figures of 4 for 60, said his focus had been on getting the ball “in the right areas”. “I tried to stick to what I normally do,” Bishoo said. “I came here today and I knew once I got the ball in the right areas I would get some wickets.”When I came on to bowl I didn’t look too far ahead. I concentrated on what I wanted to do with each ball and how I would attack each batsman. I got a lot of support from the guys on the field and everyone in the dressing room. It was also good the crowd was behind me.”Bishoo, who was the highest wicket-taker for West Indies in the ODI series, said the wicket of opposition captain Misban-ul-Haq, who became his first Test victim, lbw for 2, set the tone for him for the rest of the innings.”My first wicket was a relief,” Bishoo said. “I knew I got him ‘dead’ in front. He’s the main batsman so to get him so early on was a great feeling. The team needed me to come in and do the job at that stage and I was happy I delivered.” Bishoo’s other three victims were Asad Shafiq, Akmal and Mohammad Salman.The hosts ended the second day on 34 for 2, giving them an overall lead of 100 runs.

The Ashes series finished more than four months ago, but for Alastair Cook and Jonathan Trott it looked like only yesterday as the pair resumed their remarkable run-scoring combination with a century each in an unbroken stand of 240 in Cardiff. Cook reached his 17th Test hundred to continue his prolific form from Australia and Trott brought up number six to cement his mighty average as England moved to 287 for 2.Play was delayed until 2pm on a damp, chilly day and the atmosphere couldn’t have been more removed from the cauldrons of the Gabba and MCG, yet it made no difference to the hunger of either batsman. Cook’s hundred came from 224 balls when he collected his eighth boundary with a rasping cut off Suranga Lakmal and it was his fifth in ten innings since the 110 against Pakistan, at The Oval, when many were calling for his head. Trott’s followed not long after, from 196 deliveries, with a flowing cover drive in the first over of the second new ball, and the pair’s alliance became England’s best for any wicket against Sri Lanka.There is more rain forecast for the final two days, but England have the platform from which to put Sri Lanka under pressure although they will be down to a three-man bowling attack after James Anderson was diagnosed with a side strain. Despite the news that he won’t bowl again in this Test, and is a serious doubt for Lord’s, Anderson resumed as nightwatchman. However, he didn’t last long before jabbing Ajantha Mendis to slip with England having not added to their overnight total. Yet it didn’t harm England’s prospects as, unless a nightwatchman can score quickly, his presence tends to hold up the game and that wasn’t what this match needed after so many delays.Instead, it allowed the two major batting stars of the Ashes to join forces again. It was a slow start as they got used to facing Mendis and refused to chase the succession of wide deliveries from the seamers, but steadily the runs began to flow. The first boundary of the day came with a Trott square drive in the 12th over of the session and it was actually the removal of Mendis from the attack that helped England increase the rate.Smart stats

The undefeated 240-run stand between Alastair Cook and Jonathan Trott is the highest for England against Sri Lanka, going past the previous of 202 by Marcus Trescothick and Mark Butcher at Edgbaston almost nine years ago.

It’s also the fourth-highest third-wicket partnership for England in the last 20 years.

In 16 partnerships, Cook and Trott have put together 1161 runs at an average of 82.92, with four century stands.

The stand also continues outstanding sequences for both Cook and Trott. Cook has already scored 17 hundreds in only 66 Tests, and has been involved in 13 of the last 20 partnerships of 150 or above for England.

In 19 matches, Trott averages 66.34 and has scored six hundreds. In his last 12 Tests he averages 95.30, with five hundreds.

Rangana Herath struggled to settle into a consistent line as he offered Cook an opportunity to put away an early cut then Trott drove him through the covers. At the other end Thisara Perera was dispatched for consecutive boundaries by Cook although the first of those flew between second slip and gully off the edge.Cook went to his fifty and Trott then began to catch him up with some trademark leg-side shots off the seamers who fell into the same trap as the Australians by bowling too straight. In the last over before tea the pair brought up their fourth hundred partnership in Tests and the one significant alarm in the entire stand came when Trott could have been run out by a direct hit from mid-on on 59, but Perera’s throw missed despite having three stumps to aim at.It was a rare opportunity for Sri Lanka and their attack was toothless on a slow pitch. Lakmal was wholehearted and Mendis economical, but from early on in the Cook-Trott stand there was the sense that Tillakaratne Dilshan wanted to protect what he had with 400 on the board rather than try and bowl England out. There was a period of an hour-and-a-half when they didn’t hit a boundary, but with sweepers in place ones and twos were on offer to keep the scoreboard ticking.As the final session progressed the scoring rate increased and either side of the two batsmen reaching hundreds runs came at more than five-an-over. The taking of the new ball helped England as the extra pace off the bat negated a slower outfield – Mendis conceded his first boundaries of the day when Trott twice put him through the covers – and Dilshan had to have a few more men in attacking positions. One thing the new ball didn’t do, though, was provide Sri Lanka a breakthrough and they face plenty more leather chasing in this innings.

وأضاف: “نبيه يشعر بأنه يجب أن يكون له دور، هناك مدربين يسمحون بذلك واخرين لا يسمحون، هو يرى أنه يجب على اسامة عدم القيام من على دكة البدلاء”.

وواصل: “فيريرا تفاجىء بأن اسامة نبيه يقول له إنه أمامه فرصة في مكان أخر”.

وأردف: “أسامة أدى دوره على أكمل وجه، نقول له شكرًا ولا نشعل ثورة قبل مباراة الداخلية بيوم”.

وتابع: “أسامة نبيه اتصل بي وأبلغني بأنه لديه عرض من نادي أخر”.

واستكمل: “عقب مباراة الداخلية سأجتمع مع فيريرا لاختيار بديل أسامة نبيه، وإذا لم يريد مساعد له فلا أزمة”.

وأكد : “أسامة نبيه أدى مرحلة ويجب أن نشكره، يكفي أنه قدم لنا نجله يوسف”.

وأوضح: “اجتمعت مع اللاعبين بسبب الحجز على الأرصدة، كان لهم جزء من المستحقات وعلى يوم الأربعاء المقبل لا يوجد لاعب سيكون له مليم في الزمالك، لاعبو الزمالك رجال ولم يطلبوا مستحقاتهم واخذوا قرار بعدم الحديث عن أي مليم إلا بعد رفع الحجز عن أرصدة النادي”.

وأتم: “أما ما تردد بشأن رغبة الزمالك في التعاقد مع مروان عطية، فليس كل ما يعرف يقال ولا تعليق”.

علق جهاد جريشة، الحكم الدولي السابق، على قرارات الحكم في مباراة الأهلي والمصري البورسعيدي، مشيراً إلى أنه يوجد خطأ على مدافع المصري لم يتم احتسابه.

وتعادل الأهلي سلبيًا مع المصري في اللقاء الذي أقيم على أرضية ملعب استاد برج العرب، في إطار مواجهات الجولة الثالثة عشر من الدوري الممتاز.

وقال جريشة في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر فضائية “إي تي سي”: “وليد عبدالرازق أدار مباراة الاهلي والمصري بشكل جيد، ولكن هناك لعبة واحدة أخطأ فيها بسبب قيام مدافع المصري بدهس قدم محمد شريف خارج منطقة الجزاء، ولو كان سجل هدفاً للمصري كان سيتم إلغاؤه”.

وأكمل: “محمود متولي وارد أن يكون اعترض بشكل غير لائق، لذلك لا أستطيع الحكم على صحة الإنذار، والأمر متروك لتقدير حكم المباراة والأفضل أن يبتعد الحكم عن اللاعبين”.

Vikram Solanki’s first County Championship century for 14 months enabled Worcestershire to take maximum batting points for the first time this season in their clash with Division One relegation rivals Hampshire at New Road.Daryl Mitchell declared at 403 for 8 as soon as Solanki was dismissed for 173 after batting for almost six hours and 36-year-old Alan Richardson unsettled Hampshire with 3 for 52 in two spells until they closed 171 behind at 232 for 7.Liam Dawson was caught behind from the sixth ball of the innings – giving Richardson his 400th first-class wicket in a 16-year career with four counties – and Michael Lumb made only 6 on his first Championship outing of the season.Lumb went leg-before to Gareth Andrew’s third delivery but with Australian Damien Wright having come to the end of his stint in the overseas slot, Worcestershire’s back-up bowlers were unable to sustain the initial breakthrough.Held up for 17 overs by Jimmy Adams (52) and Neil McKenzie (37), they had to wait for Richardson’s reappearance before regaining momentum. Adams survived a low chance to second slip after completing 50 from 70 balls but then played on as Richardson claimed wickets in successive overs. McKenzie was next to go when the experienced seamer knocked back his middle stump.With Richardson resting again after testing all the batsmen, Hampshire milked some dismal bowling. James Vince made 50 before he was bowled by Jack Shantry after putting on 95 in 16 overs with Nic Pothas (60), but the follow-on target of 254 had still not been cleared when Shakib Al Hasan claimed two late wickets in six balls.At the start of this month Wright and Richardson were the most successful new-ball pairing in the Championship with 61 wickets as Worcestershire moved 15 points clear of Hampshire by beating champions Nottinghamshire.Now given an opportunity to go for back-to-back wins for the first time in four separate seasons in Division One, they made the running thanks to Solanki’s best performance since relinquishing the captaincy last August. Resuming at 250 for 4, he completed his hundred from the first ball he faced and went on to dominate proceedings in the third century partnership of the innings.Shakib contributed 54 out of 109 in an unexpected Championship appearance as stand-in for Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal, who is due to arrive in the country on Monday after delays over his visa.Dominic Cork revived Hampshire with a lively new-ball spell in which he removed Shakib and Andrew with slip catches and the captain also held an over-the-shoulder chance at long off to dismiss Solanki after he had hit 25 fours and a six. That gave Dimitri Mascarenhas a tidy return of 3 for 76 in 28 overs.
