Sajid Mahmood’s career remains on hold after he was left out of the first Essex squad of the new season. But his reputation may have been polished in his absence as Essex’s attack were rendered impotent by an unbroken, double-century partnership for Gloucestershire’s fourth wicket between Dan Housego and Hamish Marshall.Having played eight Tests and 26 ODIs only to fall away – his last England appearance was in 2009 – Mahmood spiralled further into the abyss after being released by Lancashire at the end of last season and failing to find a new deal at a Division One county.Essex offered him a chance to rebuild but James Foster, the captain, said Mahmood was out-bowled in pre-season and didn’t warrant inclusion against Gloucestershire. Instead, Mahmood was at Derby playing for Essex second XI. He took 1 for 40 and was overshadowed by Reece Topley – a young bowler of great promise – who returned 4 for 20.”Saj had a good pre-season but it was one of those things where he’s bowled well but the other guys have bowled better,” Foster told ESPNcricinfo. “It’s only the start of the season but Saj is a quality performer and he’ll be featuring heavily this season.”I’m really impressed with the bowling unit. I believe it’s the best attack I’ve seen since I’ve been at the club, with six big seamers.”It would appear some luxury for Essex to have resources to leave a big-name signing out of their side. Perhaps Mahmood has now been relegated from big-name status. But only his best would have improved Essex’s fortunes on the opening day of the season as Marshall and Housego compiled a chanceless 229-run stand at almost three-and-a-half an over – a fourth-wicket record against Essex.The partnership began after lunch and saw them through to the close. It was a rare day of batting dominance from Gloucestershire and looked unlikely from 34 for 2 with both openers dismissed by David Masters. But in Marshall, Gloucestershire have a player who could easily be playing Test cricket and Housego, a determined player with a solid technique. The pair gave Gloucestershire a dream opening to 2013.Housego arrived in Bristol on the back of a superb second-XI season for Middlesex in 2011 but he failed to transfer that to regular first-team cricket last season. He gets a long stride in when playing forward but his best stroke came from a slightly shorter stride to flick Graham Napier’s first ball after tea through midwicket. The timing was immense.Usurped by Marshall for the first ton of the year, he nervously played off the back foot into the covers on 99 and could have been run out. The throw missed and Housego had his first first-class century for Gloucestershire.It was steady work on a slightly slow wicket that was green-tinged. That and the history of Gloucestershire’s batting – most pertinently they were shot out for 180 and 146 here last season – was all the encouragement Foster needed to insert them having won the toss.But his bowlers didn’t probe away consistently enough, especially Maurice Chambers, who at one stage of the afternoon had conceded over four-an-over. Masters was Masters – nipped a couple out with the new ball and kept it tight – and Napier found a little seam movement from the Hayes Close End after lunch. Aside from that, including the second new ball, there was only the hard work of the visiting batsman for a healthy day one crowd to get excited about.Despite the close score, Foster was satisfied with his bowler’s efforts. “I guess it’s one of those where you hope it’s going to do more for a longer period of time than it did,” he said. “It would have been nice to have another wicket by lunch but after that, credit to the batsman. We did not bowl poorly.”

بعدها أشهر مارشينياك أول بطاقة صفراء بسبب تدخل باريلا على فودين وإجهاض هجمة مرتدة.

بعد ذلك، اقحم سيموني إنزاجي روميلو لوكاكو، بدلًا من إيدين دجيكو، من أجل تنشيط الهجوم الإيطالي.

The ECB has launched a free educational programme for use in primary schools aimed at teaching children about the spirit of cricket and using Ashes-themed lessons to feed into various key disciplines, such as numeracy and literacy.Called the ‘Ashes School Challenge’, the interactive programme is being supported by the charity Chance to Shine and Cricket Australia. The initiative, part of the ECB’s summer marketing campaign aimed at strengthening grassroots participation, will also see selected schools in the UK invited to take part in a Sister School Challenge, partnering them with a school in Australia.”There are so many ways in which the Ashes can play a part in the classroom – whether by applying maths skills to the study of scores and averages, understanding how modern cricketers keep fit and healthy, or learning more about cricket’s place in the history and culture of both countries,” the ECB’s managing director cricket partnerships, Mike Gatting, said.”We’ll also be encouraging participating schools to organise Ashes-themed cricket tournaments or fun days as part of the programme which will involve the wider community and give children an opportunity to play the game and learn more about key cricketing values such as teamwork, fair play, respect and leadership.”The Ashes School Challenge is linked to the National Curriculum and will be based around 20 themed lesson plans across multiple subjects, with a free educational resource kit available all interested schools and teachers.

ويختتم المنتخب استعداده اليوم  للقاء غانا وديًا بعدها يمنح الجهاز الفني بقيادة ميكالي اللاعبين راحة قبل السفر مساء الجمعة إلى الرباط لإجراء معسكر أخير بها يتخلله لقاء ودى مع الكونغو ثم يسافر المنتخب إلى مدينة طنجة التى تستضيف مباريات مجموعته.

أثار كيليان مبابي، نجم فريق باريس سان جيرمان، غضب إدارة النادي الفرنسي بعد القرار الذي كشف عنه اليوم للمسؤولين، في خطاب رسمي أرسله ظهر اليوم الإثنين.

ووفقًا لصحيفة “ليكيب” الفرنسية، فإن كيليان مبابي أبلغ مسؤولي باريس سان جيرمان أنه لا ينوي تفعيل بند التمديد في عقده الحالي.

كان مبابي قد وقع عقدًا جديدًا مع باريس سان جيرمان حتى عام 2024، مع خيار التمديد لعام آخر، أي حتى عام 2025.

وأكدت الصحيفة أن مبابي لا ينوي البقاء مع باريس سان جيرمان لما بعد الموسم المقبل، 2023/24، حيث يسعى إلى الرحيل وعدم تفعيل بند التمديد.

وأشارت إلى أن قرار مبابي أثار غضب مسؤولي باريس سان جيرمان، الذين لا يرغبون في رحيله مجانًا العام المقبل.

وتعجب مسؤولو باريس سان جيرمان من قرار مبابي، حيث شعروا بأن المحادثات الخاصة بتمديد عقده (صفقة جديدة طويلة الأمد) كانت إيجابية في الأسابيع الأخيرة، ولذلك لم يفكر النادي على الإطلاق من قبل في بيعه هذا الصيف.

ولكن الآن سئم باريس سان جيرمان الوضع ومستعد لاتخاذ موقف متشدد تجاه مبابي.

وأفادت بأن قرار مبابي قد يعني لجوء باريس سان جيرمان إلى طرحه للبيع في الميركاتو الصيفي الحالي، لتحقيق استفادة ماليًا.

وأكدت الصحيفة أن باريس سان جيرمان أمامه خيارين فقط، إما أن يوافق مبابي على تمديد عقده ومن ثم بقائه حتى 2025، أو بيعه في الأيام المقبلة.

ويتطلع ريال مدريد بقوة إلى ضم مبابي، خاصة بعد رحيل النجم الفرنسي كريم بنزيما قبل أيام إلى اتحاد جدة السعودي.

من جانبها، ذكرت صحيفة “نيويورك تايمز” الأمريكية أن مسؤولي باريس سان جيرمان تفاجئوا بقرار مبابي.

وذكرت أن أولئك المسؤولين علموا بقرار مبابي بعدما تواصلت معهم وسيلة إعلامية فرنسية (ليكيب)، مدعية بأنها تلقى نسخة من خطاب مبابي قبل إرساله إلى إدارة النادي.

ولم ترد محدثة مبابي على تلك التقارير، كما رفض ممثلو باريس سان جيرمان التعقيب.

Sustained pressure with the ball and a brave counter-attacking innings from Ross Taylor meant that New Zealand continued to hold a slight advantage at Lord’s, despite James Anderson’s best efforts to wrestle back control with a high-class bowling display during which he claimed his 300th Test wicket.After restricting England to 232 – scored at barely two-an-over throughout and with the last six wickets falling for 40 – New Zealand faced early problems themselves at 7 for 2 against a fired-up Anderson. By the close, which came early due to bad light, they had recovered to be 79 behind, although the loss of Dean Brownlie shortly before the end evened the scales a touch.Anderson had ended the series in New Zealand on 298 scalps and soon began closing in on his landmark when he had Hamish Rutherford well caught at first slip in the first over. Then, in his fourth over, he found the edge of Peter Fulton’s bat and the catch was held, low down, at second slip by his close friend Graeme Swann to become the fourth Englishman to the 300 mark. It was 20 years after the previous, Ian Botham in 1984, and almost 10 years to the day since his Test debut on this ground, against Zimbabwe, in 2003. Overall, he was the 26th bowler to reach the milestone in Test cricket; for England the others are Fred Trueman (307), Bob Willis (325) and Botham (383).Anderson, though, lacked support from his fellow quicks until Steven Finn, now back on his longer run, pitched the ball fuller to win an lbw against Brownlie but only after using the DRS to overturn Steve Davis’ initial not-out decision.Either side of tea, England were poor and New Zealand responded superbly to their early difficulties. In Taylor, they had the first batsman in the match to try and put some pressure back on the bowlers with a fifty that came off 49 balls. His innings would conclude with 13 boundaries: England hit 21 through their entire 112 overs.Any error in line or length – of which there were both from Finn and Stuart Broad – was punished, but Taylor also made some calculated judgements to attack deliveries that others may have played more cautiously. With Alastair Cook knowing that he did not have a mountain of runs on the board, and unable to keep Anderson going forever, the pressure was quickly reapplied to England.Although Graeme Swann gave Cook some control – and wicket-taking threat – it was no surprise that Anderson provided the lift England desperately needed. With the second ball of a new spell, this time from the Nursery End, he swung one back into Taylor’s pad for which the batsman almost walked before being given.That broke a stand of 93 in 25 overs and, though Taylor dominated, Kane Williamson more than played his part, showing his ability off the back foot. He was, though, given a life on 23 by Matt Prior – who had earlier bagged a first-ball duck to mark a tricky start to his season after being named England’s player of the year – when he went one-handed for an edge off Anderson where he may have been able to use both gloves. When collecting his award on Monday, Prior did note how “fickle” the game can be. Then, on 27, England did not review for a catch down the leg side that replays showed had grazed the bat.This match is shaping to go against the trend of relatively high-scoring encounters at Lord’s even in May. England’s batting continued to be wrapped in caution after they resumed on 160 for 4 and an innings that had crept along unravelled quickly either side of lunch as New Zealand’s diligence and discipline was rewarded.Tim Southee broke the deadlock with two wickets in two balls to spark a slide of 4 for 9 in 17 balls before the interval, and he also claimed the final wickets to finish with 4 for 48. For the second time in two series England had begun without an individual half-century.Joe Root had played very solidly, as much as any of the top order, on his first appearance at Lord’s until glancing Southee past his hip where BJ Watling, excellent behind the stumps, took the catch diving to his left. In New Zealand, and on the first day here, Southee bowled without the luck his efforts deserved so no one could begrudge him a change in fortune. But it was a tough way for Root to depart after he had played another mature innings. For the first time ever, for any team, four of the top five batsmen departed between 31 and 40.If the ball to claim Root was not the best Southee had bowled, the delivery to trap Prior was certainly up there; an off-cutter (or at least a scrambled seam) that gripped slightly on the surface to beat the inside edge in front of middle and leg. Prior opted for a review and while the decision was not plumb, ‘umpires’ call’ on hitting was enough for Southee and New Zealand.Broad survived the hat-trick ball as it slid wide of off stump, but not much longer. His part in the match-saving heroics at Auckland was all the more surprising because of the decline in his batting over the last months. On this occasion he was stone dead lbw to Wagner (so much so that even Broad knew he couldn’t ask for a review) as he was beaten by a full delivery that straightened but he did not give himself the best chance to survive by aiming towards square leg.Although Wagner sprayed the occasional ball outside off he found the most movement of the three quicks during a spell where he charged in from the Nursery End. He was quickly in the face of Swann – who was welcomed back to Test cricket with a couple of sharp bouncers having had the temerity to drive a boundary through point – but it was another full delivery that ended his brief stay and gave Watling his fourth catch.Bairstow watched from the non-striker’s end as he, too, reigned in a natural attacking instinct, but did produce a couple of strong straight drives that defied the slow outfield. He was left doing what he could with the tail for company and was just threatening to try a few more shots when he watched Southee cling onto a thumping drive.

كشفت تقارير صحفية أن لاعب فريق مانشستر سيتي، إيمريك لابورت، رفض فكرة الانتقال إلى صفوف فريق إنجليزي آخر هذا الصيف.

وأصبح مستقبل اللاعب صاحب الـ29 عامًا محل شك، بعدما تراجع دوره تحت قيادة المدرب بيب جوارديولا.

وحسبما ذكرت شبكة “فوتبول إنسايدر” الإنجليزية، فإن توتنهام تحرك لمعرفة مدى إمكانية الحصول على خدمات لابورت في الميركاتو الصيفي الحالي.

وأوضحت أن اللاعب الإسباني أبدى عدم اهتمامه بخطوة الانتقال إلى صفوف توتنهام، مما اضطر الأخير إلى البحث عن أهداف أخرى.
